Conversation with Jasmine Mayhead

Jasmine Mayhead is the Founder of Ethical Made Easy, an online directory created to make shopping for ethical fashion, well easy! Simple and thought-provoking, this directory really lifts the lid on the fashion industry, providing stories behind the clothing and the products we consume. It provides a bunch of educational resources and information leaving visitors feeling inspired to make a change in they way they consume.

Globally, we now consume about 80 billion new pieces of clothing every year - 400% more than we were consuming just two decades ago.

Jasmine Mayhead is the Founder of Ethical Made Easy, a directory which lists ethical brands, educational resources and everything in between. It’s a resource that aims not to be too preachy but rather provide a balanced and easy approach to choosing ethical options.

Jas grew up in New Zealand, a country recognised for its eco friendly practices and efforts in building a more sustainable future. After university she left the comforts of her ‘clean and green country’ and leapt into Melbourne’s fashion world. Over the first three years in the industry, Ethical Made Easy, was born.

She’s incredibly passionate about enlightening others on who made their clothes, at all stages of the supply chain but she doesn’t support or participate in the ‘shame culture’ and you can see that reflected through the website.

The team understand how difficult it is to find truly ethical brands, they spend hours sifting through the internet to find the best out there, so you don’t have to. They look at a brands processes, supply chain and impact on the environment. They also endeavour to provide info and tips on how to be more ethical in general and avoid fast fashion completely.

It’s a beautifully presented directory full of additional information on fabrics, inspiring interviews and even templates you can send on to your favourite brands to find out how ethical they are. All to make your purchasing life easier, as well as, perhaps inspiring and activating the little ‘activist’ inside each one of us.
